Have you ever wanted to know what a burn down graph would look like if the functionality contained in the sprint was not well understood by the business? Well wonder no longer, because you can see it here. Sprint 7 of this project contains production scheduling functionality, a requirement that is not well understood by the business. In the graph, you can see the effects of them climbing their learning curve and passing those changes on to us. In the text book world, when it became apparent that the functionality was not well understood, the sprint should have been halted. However here, in the real world, this project has a hard deadline, so we had no option but to continue with it, amending our tests as the business learned how they wanted production scheduling to work. Currently we expect the project to be completed on 12/06/2006. As always, please feel free to comment on this site or on the flickr site. Tags: Bakery Software, netBake |
